Mole Valley Pilates is run by Dr Caroline Litman. Caroline worked for 12 years as a doctor in the NHS. After developing back problems she turned to Pilates for help and was so impressed with the results that she left her role in the NHS and trained with Body Control Pilates (Europe’s largest and longest running Pilates training provider), qualifying in 2007. Caroline has been teaching Pilates since 2008 and attends classes with one of the UK’s Pilates legends, Lisa Bradshaw, along with regular courses and workshops. She believes that by participating and experiencing the challenges of Pilates within her own body, she can best deepen her knowledge of the method and so pass this on to her clients.
Mary started her career in nursing but the demands of a family soon took precedence. With her children now all grown, she has been teaching Pilates since 2014 , alongside a demanding day job as cover supervisor at a local secondary school. Mary is our resident elite athlete, who can pop out and run a marathon before breakfast! Weekly Pilates sessions for herself help keep those niggly running injuries at bay. If you need inspiration to keep up your training for an endurance challenge then look no further. We really don’t know where she finds her energy but we keep looking.
Jane was introduced to Pilates in 2009 after developing a stress fracture in her pelvis which stopped her obsessive running and gym classes in their tracks. Turning to Pilates to heal, Jane discovered true core strength for the first time. Not wishing to return to her city career after having her children, Jane trained as a Pilates teacher to share the joy that she’s found in the method. She qualified through Body Control Pilates in 2014 and has since gained qualifications in Bone Health Pilates, Post Natal Pilates and various small equipment certifications. She is also qualified to teach on the Reformer and attends weekly teacher only classes to keep herself up to date.
